I'm the chap in the background with a reporter's pad shoved in his pants. The year was 1993. Fiona Harari is the glamour in the front. She was there for The Australian, I was there for The Sydney Morning Herald. The story was Bob Geldof performing at a Bachelor and Spinster's Ball at Goondiwindi. In those days alcohol was yet to become politically incorrect and everybody got absolutely legless. The story ran on page one and caused outrage. We had a great time. Geldof made a film about it all. Pictures by Bob Finlayson.
Dinner at a local resident, before the party began. L-R, SMH photographer Steven Siewert, myself and Fiona Harari.
